Reiki (Ray-Key) is an ancient healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki means universal life force energy; the energy found in and around all living things. It is a natural, gentle, non-invasive yet powerful method of healing that is given by gentle touch. The aim of this healing energy is to balance all levels of being: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, as well as to enhance the natural power of the body to heal itself. The healing technique was channeled by Mikao Usui around the year 1830. It was similar to the techniques of the ancient prophets. He became the founder of Reiki, a healing art dedicated to healing broken people.
